Tea kettles are generally used to heat water used to brew a pot of tea. These kettles can either be applied to the gas stove or link to an electric power outlet. The ones applied to the stove are comprised of conductive metals that conserve heat and energy. The metals used are usually steel, aluminum and copper. Copper ones are preferred because they are better conductors and tend to be more durable, and undoubtedly much more attractive. Some steel ones have a copper bottom to be able to make them more efficient.
Cleaning the copper kettles takes a little effort and know-how. The reason behind that is that it can easily accumulate tarnish. The tarnish does not reduce its effective nature at all but the wonder and charm of it are lessened dramatically. That is why you will need to periodically clean it well to remove the tarnish.
The daily cleaning of the entire kettle is essential to ensure it's safe and copper kettle hygienic. This cleaning isn't very difficult or strenuous. You should soak it in warm soapy water and utilize this soapy water to scrub it completely. Make sure to rinse it thoroughly with clean water afterwards. After this you should take a half cut lemon, sprinkled with a tablespoon of baking soda. Rub this lemon onto the copper surfaces vigorously to create it shine. Then rinse again thoroughly with water and dry it with a soft cloth.
To get rid of the tarnish, place the kettle in a pot of water containing a combination of a pot of vinegar and a tablespoon of salt. The kettle should be completely covered with water. Now cover the pot and boil its contents for about an hour. After this you can wash it with warm, soapy water and rinse thoroughly. Lastly, dry it with a soft cloth.
